Tonight is more than just a basketball game.
Tonight is more than wearing an ugly sweater and enjoying some holiday fun.

Tonight is about honoring one of the all-time legends, not just at ODU, but for the women’s basketball game as a whole

The Lady Monarchs are honored to hosted the annual Anne Donovan Classic at 6:30 at Chartway Arena when the #3 Wolfpack of NC State come to town.

🔼 What It’s About. While the Monarchs may not have left Charlotte with a bowl trophy, two of their own left with something much more important.

During ODU’s trip to the Queen City, the Monarchs got to celebrate the graduation of John Cook II and Lamareon James.

Congrats fellas! Nothing better!

🔼 Battle Tested. Throughout the 2023 season, the ODU football team tested every bit of fingernail on every finger of every Monarch fan.

Entering Monday’s Famous Toastery Bowl, ODU had played in the most one-score games in the entire country.

The final game of 2023 was no different as the Monarchs battled their way into an OT thriller, but fell to WKU, 38-35, on Monday in Charlotte.

🔼 Holiday Travelers. While millions of Americans will hit the airways and interstates to travel this holiday season, not many will travel more further than the ODU men’s basketball team.

Than again, not many will see the sights that the Monarchs will see this week.

ODU returns to action after a 12-day layoff at the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii… not a bad place to spend a week in December we’d say.

The Monarchs kick off things against Big 12 foe TCU on Thursday and will play games on Friday and Sunday as well against competition to be determined.
