🔼 Mountain Topped. For much of the non-conference season, the ODU women’s hoops squad found themselves ranked among the best defensive teams in the country.

On Thursday night, the Lady Monarchs returned to that form in decisive fashion, picking up a crucial 68-49 victory over Sun Belt rival, Appalachian State.

ODU held App State to just 30.4-percent from the field and 18.2-percent from long range, while also forcing 22 turnovers on the evening.

En’Dya Buford led another balanced offensive attack with 14 points, while Kaye Clark added 12 for the Monarchs.

🔼 Sofia The Great. After earning All-Conference accolades last spring, Sofia Johnson is ready to keep making waves in her third season with the ODU women’s tennis squad.

One week in, she’s already on her way.

In ODU’s season opener against ACC power Florida State, Johnson picked up two wins, which garnered her Sun Belt Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week accolades.

🔼 Get By With A Little Help From My Friends. Any time we can pull from the Beatles, we have to, right?

On the court, the season isn’t what Chaunce Jenkins had hoped, but no matter what, he wouldn’t trade his time at ODU for anything.

Harry Minium sat down this week to talk to Jenkins’ about his connection with ODU, the community and a few special friends.

🤔 MONARCH TRIVIA

Thursday night, ODU got back to its defensive prowess and limited the Mountaineers of App State to just 49 points on the night.
