That was the only thing on the mind of the ODU men’s tennis team as they headed to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and that focus was on display as the Monarchs rolled to a second straight conference championship on Sunday with a 4-1 victory over Georgia Southern.

After sweeping their quarterfinals and semifinals matches, the Monarchs put together four straight singles victories, including the final two from freshmen, to complete the title run with the defeat of the 63rd-ranked Eagles of GSU.

ODU will now await their NCAA Tournament destination, which will be announced next Monday, April 29.

🔼 Country Roads. Many times, especially during conference play, Sundays prove to be crucial to taking a series.

For the second straight weekend, the ODU baseball team showed up and showed out in a series finale, this time throttling Marshall, 12-2, to take two-of-three from the Thundering Herd in Huntington.

It was the arms of the Monarchs that delivered all weekend long, allowing just six earned runs all weekend long, while striking out 26 in the three-game set.

Offensively, TJ Aiken and Kenny Levari had a hit in all three games, while Kyle Edwards had a huge five-RBI performance in the series finale.

ODU’s women’s tennis squad rolled to yet another conference victory, finishing the 2024 season unbeaten in Sun Belt play after dominating Appalachian State, 6-1, over the weekend.

The win is the 29th in a row in conference play for the Monarchs dating back to 2018.

With their victory on Sunday in the Sun Belt conference title match, the Monarchs reached 20 wins, improving to 20-7 on the spring.
