More pieces of the 2024-25 schedule have come together for the ODU men’s hoops squad.

After learning their MAC-SBC battle matchup last week, the Monarchs learned that a date with Boston College awaits this upcoming November.

ODU will take on the Eagles at 7:30 pm in the opening game of the Cayman Islands Classic set for November 24 at John Gray Gymnasium in George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. This is the first appearance for ODU in the Cayman Islands Classic and a first meeting against Boston College.

The Monarchs second game will be against either Missouri State or High Point on Monday, Nov. 25 with the tournament concluding on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Watch out world! The march continues!

Former ODU star Yuliia Starodubtseva continued her strong play as she kicked off her stay at Wimbledon with a straight set victory (6-4, 6-3) over Germany’s Alison Van Uytvanck.

Next up for the former Monarch is New Zealand’s Lulu Sun on Wednesday in the second round of the major.

Starodubtseva has now played in three majors this year after playing in the French and Australian Opens earlier this season.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 59 DAYS

The year: 2013.
The date: September 21, 2013.

It was one of the most memorable games in program history when
Larry Pinkard caught a 70-yd TD from Taylor Heinicke with under
four minutes to play and Reggie Owens came up with a game-saving
tackle on a two-point conversion attempt to give ODU
a 59-58 victory over The Citadel.

At the time, the 59 points was the fifth-most scored
in a game in program history.

After posting the best season in program history this past fall, the ODU volleyball program is reloading for another big season ahead.

This week, head coach Fred Chao announced the addition of three more players to round out the 2024 recruiting class.

Joining the Monarchs this fall will be Hailee Blankenship (Outside Hitter - Goode, Va./King University (Jefferson Forest HS)), Alexa Earle (DS/Libero - Austin, Tex./ Lake Travis HS) and Tshilanda Diouf (Outside Hitter - Châteauneuf-les-Martigues, France/McNeese State (Lycée Maurice Genevoix)).

"We are excited about the addition of Hailee, Alexa, and Tshilanda to our program," said Chao. "All three will add depth, competitiveness, and have the potential to make an early impact on our level."

This past year, Coach Milton-Jones and the Lady Monarchs earned a third-straight 20-plus win season.

As we mentioned, they don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon as ODU rounded out its full 2024-25 roster with a 10-player recruiting class.

They’ve been hard at work this summer preparing for the upcoming year and ODUSports.com recently sat down with coach to talk about the newcomers, the summer so far and the future of the program.
