📞 CALL TO THE HALL

We have all have important phone calls that happen throughout our lives.

Moments and calls that we’ll remember forever.

Recently, five all-time ODU greats got one of those calls as the 2024 Class of the ODU Sports Hall of Fame was announced.

This year’s class includes Trey Freeman (Men’s Basketball), Christy Longacre (Field Hockey), Jonathan Plisco (Football), Evan Newton (Men’s Soccer) and Marty Bradley (Athletic Training).

The group will be inducted at a dinner at Chartway Arena in early September.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Reload > Rebuild. After another conference championship and yet another trip to the NCAA Tournament, you may think that the ODU men’s tennis team may need a year to rebuild.

But that’s now what the Monarchs do, they reload.

And reload they did as it was announced recently that ODU inked a top-20 recruiting class in the country.

🔼 Turnin’ Two. While the Sun Belt Tournament run came to an end before the Monarchs had hoped, a pair of ODU standouts did their thing under the brightest of lights.

Maverick Stallings and Jacob Gomez both were named to the SBC All-Tournament team over the weekend.

Stallings went 6-for-12 with one HR, two runs scored and five RBIs, while Gomez was outstanding on the mound, allowing just one run in 5.1 innings of work in two appearances, while striking out eight.

✍️ MAX WITH MINIUM: BROTHERLY BOND

Nothing like a little brotherly love.

The ODU Baseball team had plenty of it this spring with not one, but ✌️ sets of brothers on the squad in the Levari and Gomez siblings.

🤔 MONARCH TRIVIA

During his senior season in 2015-16, Trey Freeman set a single-season program record with 838 points, averaging 22.1 ppg for the year.
