TGIF Monarchs. When packing for a long road trip, it’s important to pack all the essentials.

For the ODU women’s hoops squad, they made sure to pack their defensive muscles and it showed on the first leg of their road swing.

🔼 Cock-a-doodle-doo! Now that’s how you start a road trip!

ODU’s women’s squad got back to its defensive ways and stifled a gritty Coastal Carolina squad en route to a 71-57 victory in the first of four straight road games.

The win helps the Monarchs keep pace in the Sun Belt standings as one of four teams with three conference early in league play.

Kaye Clark and En’Dya Buford paced the offensive attack with 14 points apiece for ODU, who had 12 different players score in the victory.

🔼 Cat Clawed. For 20 minutes, the ODU men’s hoops team had their way in a tough road environment.

Unfortunately, the second 20 minutes proved to be the difference as Georgia State used a late second half surge to defeat the Monarchs 77-70 in Atlanta on Thursday night.

Freshman Vasean Allette led the way offensively with 18 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, while senior Tyrone Williams added 17 points and three steals.

🔼 New Faces In Norfolk. Two bright young minds are joining the Monarchs this spring.

This week, head coach Ricky Rahne announced the addition of David Weeks (Tight Ends) and JJ Laster (Wide Receivers) to the coaching staff.

Weeks comes to ODU after a stint at Tennessee, while Laster was most recently at Western Carolina.
