TGIF Monarchs. It’s no secret that this season hasn’t been an easy one for the Monarchs on the court.

That’s what makes nights like Thursday even more special.

The Monarchs have put together not one, but ✌️ wins this week before both squads have big road tests tomorrow.

🔼 Ceaser’s Palace. Adversity only reveals character.

Well, the character of the ODU men’s basketball team was on full display on Thursday night as the Monarchs battled their way to a critical road win at Marshall, 83-76.

Sophomore Devin Ceaser led four Monarchs in double-figures with 20 points. It was his second 20-plus point performance since the turn of the calendar to 2024.

Chaunce Jenkins added 17 points, while Tyrone Williams had 15 and Bryce Baker connected for 12.

🔼 Second Helpings. That halftime speech must have been a great one.

On Wednesday night, the ODU women’s basketball team used a big second half en route to 66-58 road victory at Texas State to improve to 15-5 overall and keep pace in the top half of the Sun Belt standings.

Like they have all season, the Lady Monarchs relied on a team effort with four different players in double-figures led by Kaye Clark and Brenda Fontana, who both scored 13 points in the victory.

🔼 Two-For-One Special. What’s better than one award? How about two awards?

The ODU tennis squads received exactly that this week as their veteran leaders both earned Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week accolades.

Sofia Johnson earned her second straight weekly accolade, while Cosme Rolland de Ravel won his first of the spring.
