Well, those country roads won’t be taking the Monarchs home, but they will be taking them to face a tough road test against the Thundering Herd tomorrow afternoon.

ODU will look for its second straight win on the gridiron, while the soccer and volleyball teams will be busy in action right here in Norfolk this weekend.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Country Roads. For the first time in nearly a month, the ODU football team is hitting the roads.

In fact, you could say they are hitting the country roads as they head to West Virginia to take on Sun Belt rival, Marshall, in a 3:30 pm showdown on Saturday on ESPN+.

The Thundering Herd continue to prove to be a thorn in the Monarchs’ side with Marshall winning seven of the previous eight meetings, including a 12-0 win last year and an OT win in 2021.

🔼 No Soup For You. We’re not sure if the ODU defensive unit watched Seinfield recently or not, but their performance was reminiscent of the famous character as the Monarchs posted not one, but two shutouts last week.

For her part in the victories, Monarch captain Nicole Fredericks was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week helping ODU to the two wins and scoring her first goal of the season in Sunday’s win over W&M.

The grad student from West Chester, Pa. was a preseason BIG EAST All-Conference selection entering the 2023 season.

Fredericks and her teammates are back in action TODAY when they travel to Providence for a BIG EAST showdown at 2 pm.

🔼 Lab Work. Three months of off-season workouts.

13 new faces.

Now, the official lab work is underway as Monarchs hit the practice courts to prepare for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

🔼 More Than A Match. Tonight is more than just a first-ever meeting between Georgia Southern and ODU volleyball.

Tonight is much more than a volleyball match. It’s about supporting those in need.

Fans who bring an unopened toy to the game will receive free admission as tonight’s match will be the Monarchs’ Gold Game in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness.

🤔 MONARCH TRIVIA

Leading The Way. Sure, everyone knows that Jason Henderson is a tackling machine.

He’s been amongst, not just the Sun Belt leaders, but the national leaders in tackles for the past two seasons.

This year, Henderson is joined by several teammates as the Monarchs have been absolute gang tacklers this fall.
