🦁 A NIGHT FOR LEGENDS

It’s a night made for legends.

September 6, 2024, the annual induction ceremony for the ODU Athletics Hall of Fame open to the public.

This year’s class includes five new members, Trey Freeman (Men’s Basketball), Christy Longacre (Field Hockey), Jonathan Plisco (Football), Evan Newton (Men’s Soccer) and Marty Bradley (Athletic Training).

A new number, same mission.

For redshirt sophomore Koa Naotala, 2023 was just the start
as the Newport News native saw action in all 13 games for
the Monarchs, racking up 29 tackles and 1.5 TFLs.

This year, Naotala will be wearing #10 and looking to take
another step to help the ODU defense.

🔼 A True Hero. There’s a lot of people behind the scenes that make the success of the Monarchs possible.

🔼 Setting The Slate. A fifth straight conference title for the ODU women’s tennis program doesn’t just start in the spring.

The preparation begins this fall as the Monarchs hit the courts in September for their fall campaign.

This year’s fall season for ODU consists of five traditional tournaments and a pair of International Tennis Federation (ITF) events. 

🎾: The Full Slate

🔼 He’s Bacckkkk. It hasn’t been the easiest season for ODU legend Justin Verlander.

After an arm injury started his season later than usual, more injury issues popped up after just 10 starts for the former Monarch, 9x All-Star and 3x Cy Young winner.

Now, tonight in Houston, Verlander returns to the mound for the first time since June 9.
