🏀 Future So Bright...
🙌 Welcome Home
👑 And much, much more!

💃 DANCIN’ WITH THE MONARCHS

The dance starts NOW!

Our conference champion field hockey and women’s soccer squads begin their NCAA Tournament journey this weekend.

First up, the field hockey squad takes on #4 Maryland this afternoon, while the women’s soccer team battles third-seeded Georgetown tomorrow.

The Monarchs will take on #4 Maryland in the first round of the 18-team field tournament. Game time against the Terps TODAY is 12 p.m in College Park.

ODU clinched their first bid to the NCAA Tournament since 2013 with a 3-1 win over #6 Liberty in the BIG EAST Championship on this past Sunday.

This season marks the third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament for the ODU women’s soccer team.

After trips to UNC and Duke in previous seasons, the Monarchs are headed north this time, traveling to the nation’s capital tomorrow afternoon for a showdown with third-seeded Georgetown.

ODU sits at 13-2-5 on the year and is coming off its third straight conference title. Georgetown took home the BIG EAST championship and sits at 12-1-7 on the year.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 We’re Going To Need Stronger Sunglasses. With a highly-touted crop of newcomers this season, the future of ODU men’s hoops was looking bright.

Now? We’re going to need those sunglasses a little stronger.

Earlier this week, the Monarchs inked three in the fall signing period that could rank as the top recruiting class in program history.

That class includes 6-foot-7 wing Caden Diggs, 6-11 center Ethan Lathan and 6-5 guard Deion Ware as soon-to-be Monarchs.

The class ranks 29th nationally, according to 247sports.com. Diggs, himself, is the highest-rated recruit in program history, ranking 97th nationally.

🔼 Welcome Home. Men’s Hoops wasn’t the only program who’s future got a little brigher.

You gotta love our ODU Fam getting a little bigger, right?

This week, plenty of Monarch programs added to their bright futures with the 2023 National Signing Day celebration.

🔼 Making a STATEment. Bounce back time.

Another top-25 opponent. Another in-state rival.

That’s what is in front of the ODU football team who will be looking to bounce back after last week’s tough home loss to Coastal Carolina when it travels to #25 Liberty tomorrow afternoon.

This marks the second time in three weeks that ODU will take on an undefeated opponent as the Flames enter Saturday’s matchup at 9-0 on the season.

🦁 THE PRIDE OF ODU

One thing is for sure the Blue & Grey blood runs deep.

That’s been shown in so many ways over the years and yet again, that bond is being put on display.

A group of ODU alumni and friends have formed a collective called "The Pride of ODU" in order to help ODU navigate the changing landscape of college athletics.

The collective will raise money and help to facilitate deals that will compensate ODU student-athletes for their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL), such as personal appearances, social media promotions or launching an entrepreneurial effort.

The collective already has negotiated NIL deals with more than 30 ODU student-athletes.

🤔 MONARCH TRIVIA

One thing is for sure.

The fingernails of ODU fans are hanging on for dear life after this fall.

Last weekend against Coastal Carolina was yet again another one-score game for the Monarchs.
