🎙 BACK ON THE MIC

No better way to start Kickoff Week than checking in with the coach, right?

Tonight is the first Ricky Rahne Coach’s Show of the season on ESPN Radio 94.1 FM from 7-8 pm!

Tonight’s first show will be a private show, however, the primary location for the rest of the schedule of Coach’s Shows will be at Grain at Hilton Norfolk The Main in downtown Norfolk.

🔼 Kickoff Week. This Saturday at 4:15 in Columbia, S.C., the 15th season of ODU football will officially get underway.

It’s been eight long months, but Monarch football is finally here!

ODU return 11 starters from last year’s bowl squad, including five on offense and four on the defensive side of the ball.

🔼 It’s So Grand. The smile says it all!

Today, in Flushing Meadows, former ODU standout Yuliia Starodubtseva will complete her grand slam appearances for the year by taking the court at the US Open.

Starodubtseva won her qualifying bracket to earn a spot in the main draw, to go along with earning spots in the main draw at the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon earlier this year.

The former Monarch will take on long-time pro and 20th seeded Victoria Azarenka in today’s first round.

🔼 Grounding The Hawks. There’s no place like home.

ODU’s women’s soccer team kicked off a four-game homestand with a dominating performance over former conference foe, UNCW, picking up their second straight 2-0 victory.

The Lady Monarchs limited the Seahawks to just three shots the entire afternoon while Gry Boe Thrysoe and Riley Mullen rocketed two big blasts into the back of the net to lead the ODU offense.

🦁 A NIGHT FOR LEGENDS

It’s a night made for legends.

September 6, 2024, the annual induction ceremony for the ODU Athletics Hall of Fame open to the public.

This year’s class includes five new members, Trey Freeman (Men’s Basketball), Christy Longacre (Field Hockey), Jonathan Plisco (Football), Evan Newton (Men’s Soccer) and Marty Bradley (Athletic Training).

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 5 DAYS

Number of the Day: 5

There will be some new faces on both sides of the ball for the Monarchs, including at least seven new starters on the defensive side.

One of those newcomers battling for a spot on that side of the ball will be
#5 Jahron Manning, a JUCO All-American who arrived in Norfolk after two seasons at Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
