🔼 Loaded Slate. The ODU football squad isn’t the only one with a big time opponent coming to town.

The 18th-ranked ODU field hockey team is set to host not one, but ✌️ top-10 squads this weekend in Norfolk.

With a 4-0 start under their belts, the Lady Monarchs welcome #4 Duke for a 5 pm showdown TONIGHT, while the 8th-ranked Buckeyes of Ohio State arrive on Sunday for a 12 pm tilt.

🔼 Comeback Kids. The trip back to his alma mater was already pretty special for ODU volleyball head coach Fred Chao.

On Thursday night, it got even more special.

Seeking the young program’s best start through eight games, the Lady Monarchs found themselves in a 2-0 hole early, but that’s when the fun began.

ODU won the next two sets, 25-22 and 25-19, before a thrilling fifth set that the Monarchs pulled out 21-19.

Elisa Maggi had a double-double on the night, leading the way with 17 kills and 10 digs. Myah Conway unleashed 15 kills, while Ashlynn Belcher dished out 42 assists.

🔼 Nation’s Finest. Just a few weeks into the 2024 season, D-II transfer Tess Jedeloo is making headlines.

On Tuesday, she was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week.

On Wednesday, she went nationwide being named the NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week.

Guess that’s what happens when you pile up five goals over the course of two wins.

HELPING HANDS

Join the cause!

The annual campus and community-wide Monarchs Give Back campaign is off and running!

As part of the campaign, ODU Athletics reps will be on hand to collect perishable items as part of the food drive that benefit Norfolk Public Schools children that are experiencing food insecurity.

This annual effort not only highlights the University's commitment to partner with the Hampton Roads community, but also shows the care and compassion of our University and the 757 as we come together to provide support.

This year, our goal is to collect 40,000 non-perishable items/monetary donations to benefit Norfolk Public Schools, ODU’s Monarch Pantry, and the Foodbank of Southeastern VA.
