🔼 Not In Our House. Sometimes, adversity and trials can bring people closer together.

For the ODU men’s basketball team, it’s been a tough stretch on and off the court with the announcement of head coach Jeff Jones stepping aside for the remainder of the season.

On Thursday night, those trials and adversity brought out the best in the Monarchs, who throttled the visiting Thundering Herd of Marshall to the tune of 91-66 in front of 6,000+ ODU faithful.

Freshman Vasean Allette poured in 27 points and added eight assists, and Chaunce Jenkins added 16 points.

🔼 New Face In Norfolk. For the first time in nearly three decades, the ODU men’s soccer squad will take the field with new leadership on the sidelines.

That new leadership now has a new sidekick as head coach Tennant McVea announced the addition of Josh Spencer as an assistant on his staff.

Spencer joins the Monarchs after serving two years as the head coach at West Virginia Wesleyan.

🔼 Speed Bump. Playing on the road is never easy.

In the middle of a four-game road swing, the ODU women’s basketball team was making it look easy, but on Thursday night, the Lady Monarchs hit a speed bump.

After a back-and-forth first half, Marshall used a strong finish to pull away and come up with a 90-60 defeat of ODU.
