📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Saturday Night Fever. It was quite a Saturday night for the ODU men’s hoops squad.
In front of the largest home crowd of the season, the Monarchs showed out, blasting past Coastal Carolina to the tune of 74-52.
The bench was huge for ODU, scoring 47 of the 74 points behind a team-high 23 points from Robert Davis Jr., who also dished out five assists and grabbed two steals.
Sean Durugordon scored in double-figures again (14), while Caden Diggs came off the bench to notch a career-high with 10 points to be the third Monarch in double-figures.
🔼 Dialing Long Distance. When you’re away from home, sometimes you have to dial long distance.
Simaru Fields did just that to help the ODU women’s hoops team back into the win column, picking up a 64-57 road victory at Georgia State on Saturday afternoon.
The junior guard came just one point shy of tying her season-high, pouring in 19 points, including a career-best five 3-pointers on the night. She also grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists in the contest.
Simone Cunningham was the other Lady Monarch in double-figures, finishing with a double-double, 10 points and 13 rebounds in the win.
🔼 Bowl Bound. For the second time in the past three years and third time in his career, former Monarch Rick Lovato is Bowl Bound!
Lovato and his Philadelphia Eagles squad blew past the Washington Commanders on Sunday and will now head to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9th.
🔼 Clipping Their Wings. The winning wasn’t only done on the court for the Monarchs over the weekend, the ODU men’s swim team got in on the action as well.
Friday night, the Monarchs headed to the nation’s capital and brought home a victory, defeating the Eagles of American University, 139-66.
💪 THE GRIND NEVER STOPS
It all starts now.
