🔼 No Soup For You. Sometimes, when it comes to conference games, you just have to scrap your way through the match.

That’s what the ODU women’s soccer squad did on Thursday afternoon, battling their way to a 1-0 home victory over Georgia Southern.

In just the 14th minute, Rhea Kijowski found the back of the net for the fifth time this season in what proved to be the game’s lone goal.

From their the Monarch defense went to work, limiting GSU to just five shots on the day en route to the seventh shutout of the season.

🔼 Early and Often. Just five minutes into Thursday’s conference showdown with Georgetown, Sian Emslie took a pass from Amelie Zielcke and found the back of the cage for the ODU field hockey.

That set the tone for the Monarchs who improved to 3-1 in BIG EAST play with a decisive 5-0 road victory over Georgetown.

Emslie scored two goals on the day, while Serenea Langendoen, Tess Jedeloo and Jolene Ulichney also tallied goals in the win.

ODU’s defense held the Hoyas without a shot for the game. The Monarchs had 20 penalty corners, 22 shots, and 13 shots on goal.

🔼 Making Waves. He may only be starting his second year, but sophomore Zach Redding is already making waves for the ODU swim team.

Redding won every event he participated in at Towson in ODU’s season-opening tie. He tallied individual wins in the 200 freestyle (1:42.67), the 50 freestyle (21.02) and the 100 Freestyle (46.06). He also finished the day as the anchor leg on the men's 200 Freestyle Relay winning team that finished with a time of 1:24.02. His split time was 20.67.

🔼 Lock ‘Em In. You’ve already got the dates. Now you can lock in the times.

This week, the tip times for ODU men’s and women’s hoops home games were announced.

🏀 TIPOFF IS COMING…
