🔼 Rising Up. With only two regular season matches remaining, the ODU women’s soccer squad finds itself in a familiar face, among the leaders in the Sun Belt standings.
On Thursday night, the Monarchs used three first-half goals en route to a 4-0 road victory at Louisiana Tech to officially punch their ticket to next month’s Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Foley, Ala.
Ashley Economopoulos scored her third and fourth goals of the season tonight to improve to nine points. Riley Mullen scored her third goal of the season to also have nine points. Madison Telmer provided her second assist to earn her eighth point, and Libby Holmes made her first assist as a Monarch and picked up her third point of the season.
🔼 Brace Yourself. Fourth-year standout Jason Purks netted a first half brace to lead ODU men’s soccer to a bounce-back, 2-1 win over Georgia State on Wednesday night at the ODU Soccer Complex.
With the regular season winding down, the three points were critical for the Monarchs who moved into one of the top-eight spots that are vying for a spot in next month’s conference tournament.
🔼 Loaded Slate. This weekend, ODU fans have plenty of chances to cheer on Monarch squads.
It all begins this afternoon when the ODU field hockey team squares off with No. 3 UConn in a critical BIG EAST matchup.
🔼 Bayou Bound. Once again, the ODU football is back on the road this weekend, this time, the Monarchs hit the road for a Saturday afternoon Sun Belt showdown at Louisiana Tech.
The Monarchs lead the all-time series against Louisiana Tech 2-0 and will look to remain unbeaten against the Bulldogs while earning a much-needed conference victory.
Kickoff on ESPN+ from Ruston is set for 5 p.m. ET.
