🏈 THURSDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

Monarch Nation, be a part of history tomorrow night.

That’s right, for the first time in program history ODU is set to host a Thursday night game when Sun Belt Division leader Georgia Southern visits Norfolk for a 7 pm kickoff at Ballard Stadium.

Its a rematch of last year’s thriller that was capped off by Ethan Sanchez’s game-winning field goal to give the Monarchs their first-ever victory over the Eagles.

Tomorrow, ODU is looking to build off last Saturday’s win over Texas State with Colton Joseph rushing for 100+ yards to lead the offense.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Hardware Haul. It’s tough to beat a weekend playing golf in the Outer Banks.

For the second straight season, the ODU men’s golf team really enjoyed it as well, finishing second among the 14-team field yet again.

The Monarchs combined for a 54-hole total of two-under par 850.

It marks the fourth time in the 14 years of the tournament that ODU has finished second. The team also finished second in its home tournament in 2016, 2019 and 2023.

Kaijun Ma was ODU’s top finisher, tying for fifth at four-under 209. The Macau, China native shot a two-under 69 on the first day, bettered that effort with a 68 on the second day, and turned in a final round of 72. Jacob Gunther also had a strong tournament as the senior from Stockholm, Sweden was one stroke behind Ma and tied for seventh at 210 (-3).

🔼 Double Dippin’. Before Thursday Night Football, we’ve got ✌️ doses of Wednesday Night Futbol on tap.

The Lady Monarchs are set to host Youth Soccer night tonight when they welcome Marshall in the home regular season finale at 7 pm. ODU is looking to stay near the top of the Sun Belt standings with the conference tournament on tap early next month.

The men’s soccer squad is on the road for a third straight Sun Belt match as they head towards Conway, S.C. to battle the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina in a crucial conference showdown.

🎙 INSIDE THE LIONS’ DEN

In episode 4️⃣ of Voice From the Lions’ Den, host Ted Alexander is joined by ODU Women's Soccer's Yuliia Khrystiuk (Forward), Kendall Mesh (Defender), and Brooke Edwards (Forward).

👏 BEST OF THE BEST

With nearly 400 Division I athletic programs in the country, anytime you’re recognized among 10 of the best, you’re doing something right.

Last week, ODU Athletics earned that distinction as the Monarchs were honored among 10 Division I institutions as the 2024 Best College Athletic Departments in the nation by Front Office Sports.
