🔼 Flyin’ High. With the national spotlight on Norfolk, the Monarchs SHOWED OUT.

Colton Joseph and the ODU football team started early and kept it going often, rolling to a record-setting night on ESPN2 with a 47-19 victory over visiting Georgia Southern on Thursday night.

Playing before a festive Military Appreciation Night crowd of 18,281, which included thousands of members of the military, the Monarchs claimed their most lopsided home victory since a 47-7 victory over Hampton in 2021.

The victory was the fourth in the last five games for ODU and the common denominator in all four was Joseph, who took over in the second half at Bowling Green on Sept. 28 and led the Monarchs to a 30-27 comeback victory. He has since been ODU’s starter.

Joseph had the finest game of his short career on Thursday, completing 20-of-26 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns and rushing eight times for 69 yards and a touchdown.

🔼 Thriller In Myrtle. It’s been three weeks since the ODU men’s soccer team played at home, but now the Monarchs are coming home with a smile.

Evan Watt took a corner kick feed from Andrew Bennett in the 72nd minute and fired it home as ODU won a thrilling 3-2 match at Coastal Carolina on Wednesday night.

It was a back-and-forth game throughout with both teams trading goals all night long. William Arnesen and Marcelo Randolf scored the other two goals for the Monarchs.

🔼 Looking For Another. Five years ago, former ODU star Daniel Hudson reached the mountain top of MLB lore by becoming a World Series Champion with the Washington Nationals.

Tonight, Hudson and the Los Angeles Dodgers kick off their final part of their hunt for a World Series Championship when Game 1 of the fall classic against the Yankees begins in LA.

This season, the former Monarch made his most appearances since 2019, pitching in 65 games for the Dodgers. This postseason, he’s pitched in five games, allowing just one run in 4.1 innings of work.

🔼 Keeping Clean. For the fourth time in the past five games and ninth time this season, the Lady Monarchs stayed clean on the pitch.

ODU women’s soccer wrapped up their 2024 regular season home slate by earning a point in a 0-0 draw with Marshall on Wednesday night.

The point keeps the Lady Monarchs in second in the East Division and second in overall conference points with just two conference matches remaining.

🎙 INSIDE THE LIONS’ DEN

In episode 4️⃣ of Voice From the Lions’ Den, host Ted Alexander is joined by ODU Women's Soccer's Yuliia Khrystiuk (Forward), Kendall Mesh (Defender), and Brooke Edwards (Forward).
