The Ricky Rahne Coach’s Show is back TONIGHT at The Fishin’ Pig - Norfolk beginning at 6 p.m.
Hosted by Ted Alexander, the voice of ODU athletics, the show will be conducted live at The Fishin’ Pig from 6-7 p.m. and then aired at 7 p.m. on ESPN Radio 94.1 in Hampton Roads and will also be available on ESPNRadio941.com.
Alexander and Rahne will go over the highlights from this past weekend and look ahead to the next weeks opponent and much more.

🔼 One Week Away. The excitement of college basketball returns to Norfolk next week as both Old Dominion programs tip off their 2026-27 campaigns exactly one week from today in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge.
The Monarchs' men's team, led by third-year head coach Mike Jones, opens at home against Western Michigan at 7 p.m. inside Chartway Arena. ODU enters the season with 11 newcomers and six returning players, highlighted by preseason All-Sun Belt First Team selection Adante' Holiman, as the Monarchs look to make a jump in the conference standings.
Meanwhile, the ODU women's team begins its season on the road against Central Michigan on Monday at 11 a.m. before returning to Chartway Arena for its home opener against Virginia State on Thursday, November 5, at 6:30 p.m.
Both programs will look to establish early momentum as they begin their pursuit of Sun Belt Conference success.

🔼 The Final Tune Up. Old Dominion men’s basketball stormed out to a 9-2 lead and never let Virginia State back in the game as the Monarchs defeated VSU, 75-48 on Saturday night at Chartway Arena.
Zacch Wiggins finished with a team high 21 points on 9-for-10 shooting from the field and went 3-for-3 from behind the arc in 23 minutes on the court. Adante’ Holiman ended the night with 12 points followed by CJ Harper with 10 to round out the Monarchs’ top three scorers.
ODU shot 53.2% from the field on 25-for-47 shooting and made 14-of-32 three pointers. The Monarchs dominated the boards, outrebounding VSU, 36-24.
🔼 Senior Salutin’. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the ODU Soccer Complex, the women’s soccer program honored its 11 seniors prior to the start of the match and then went immediately to work on the pitch.
The Monarchs scored two goals in the first 11 minutes of the second half en route to another clean sheet in a 2-0 defeat of visiting Coastal Carolina.
With only one regular season match remaining, ODU is within striking distance of a regular season championship, sitting just two points behind JMU and three points ahead of Georgia State and App State.
🔼 High Five! In its final home match of the 2026 season, the ODU field hockey team put on quite a show in a 5-0 defeat of Longwood on Senior Day on Sunday afternoon.
Lotte Haagmans led the scoring with two goals in the contest, while Serena Langendoen, Avery Jackson and Cosima Perleth each found the back of the net. Four Monarchs also tied in assists with one each, including Stella Houghton, Madison Zalewski, Nicolette Saccomandi, and Haagmans.
Defensively, the Monarchs stifled the Lancers, allowing just one shot in the contest en route to the second shutout of the season for goalkeeper Suus Broers.
