🔼 Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. Sometimes, you just have to grind out the wins.

That’s exactly what the ODU football squad did on Saturday, gutting out a 24-21 Homecoming victory over visiting App State to move just one win away from bowl eligibility.

Colton Joseph completed 21-of-35 for 310 yards and three TDs, while rushing for 61 more yards to pace the offensive attack. Na’eem Abdul-Rahim Gladding caught a career-high eight passes for 105 yards.

Defensively, the Monarchs limited App State to 374 yards, while forcing two turnovers on the day. Cornerback Zion Frink led ODU with 13 tackles while Nickendre Stiger added seven.

🔼 Getting The Call. After serving as a double-double machine last season with the ODU men’s hoops program, former Monarch Sean Durugordon will be taking his talents to Texas and the NBA G-League.

With the first pick of the second round of G-League draft on Saturday, the Texas Legends, the affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks, selected Durugordon.

Last season at ODU, he piled up 17 double-doubles and averaged 15.7 ppg and 9.1 rpg.

🔼 Senior Salute. No better way to salute your seniors than a dominant home victory.

The ODU women’s soccer team got on the board early and often and rolled to a 3-0 victory over Arkansas State on Friday night to improve to 9-2-4 overall and just a point back of the top spot in the Sun Belt standings.

Andrea Balcazar Algarin scored in the third minute of the game, and teammates Madison Toone and Gry Boe Thrysoe followed with first half goals of their own to lead the dominant showing.

The ODU men’s soccer team got a massive point in the conference standings on Sunday, battling #9 Marshall to a scoreless draw to earn another tie and move into a tie for the final two spots in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
