🔼 Raising The Bar. Five years into program existence and the ODU volleyball team continues to raise the bar.
After tying a program record last season with single-season wins, the Monarchs are set to blow past that mark after breaking the record over the weekend with their 15th victory over the season. The best part? There’s still nearly a month left in the regular season.
ODU split on the road with Southern Miss to improve to 15-6 overall with a home series with Marshall on deck for next weekend.
🔼 Smashin’ Records. This time of year, there’s plenty of pumpkins being smashed around the country.
Not the ODU swim teams, they’re just smashing records.
The Monarchs picked up a home sweep of Gardner-Webb on Saturday and did so in record-setting fashion, breaking 5️⃣ records in the process.
🔼 Senior Salute. No better way to send off the seniors than with a W.
On a day in which the ODU field hockey team celebrated their six seniors pregame, the Lady Monarchs honored the group by grinding out a hard-fought 2-1 victory over App State to improve to 11-5 on the season.
Senior Tess Jedeloo scored the eventual game-winner in the first quarter, while classmates Frederique Zandbergen and Rina Tsioles earned the assist. Sian Emslie scored the first goal for ODU.
Up next for the Monarchs? A Friday home date with #8 UCONN to determine the BIG EAST regular season championship.
🔼 Sneak Peek. With just one week separating us from the tip-off of the 2024-25 ODU Hoops seasons, the Lady Monarchs gave us our first sneak peek of what’s to coming in a 97-61 exhibition victory over Christopher Newport on Sunday.
All 14 Monarchs got into the game and all 14 also got into the scoring column. Leading a balanced attack was Mariah Clayton with 13 points, Kelsey Thompson with 12 points, Simaru Fields added 11 points and Simone Cunningham contributed 10. En’Dya Buford finished with nine points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals while Mikayla Brown also came away with six boards to help lead ODU on the glass.
🎙 INSIDE THE LIONS’ DEN
In episode 4️⃣ of Voice From the Lions’ Den, host Ted Alexander is joined by ODU Women's Soccer's Yuliia Khrystiuk (Forward), Kendall Mesh (Defender), and Brooke Edwards (Forward).
