🔼 Back at Ballard. A whole new season kicks off this weekend for the ODU football program as the Monarchs welcome Coastal Carolina to town for the Sun Belt Conference opener.
ODU is looking for its fourth straight win after coming off a 21-7 home win against Liberty last weekend.
Tomorrow’s showdown is the fifth all-time meeting with the two programs splitting the previous four contests.
🔼 Five Piece, Please. In a matchup that featured the top two goalies in the Sun Belt, it was the offense that stole the show as the ODU women’s soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to seven with a thrilling 5-3 victory over visiting Troy on Thursday night.
Gry Boe Thrysoe took home ODU Player of the Match plaudits after scoring two goals for a brace, while Ashley Economopoulos continued a productive freshman campaign with one goal and one assist. Riley Mullen notched two assists, Yuliia Khrystiuk finished with one goal and one assist, and Katie Lutz scored one goal. The Monarchs have scored 12 goals over the past two games which is the highest total over a two-game span in program history.
The previous highest mark was set in 2006 after ODU scored eight against Fairleigh Dickinson and three against Radford the following game for 11.

🔼 In The Huddle. With hoops season less than a month, we’re going inside the huddle with the Monarchs at practice as Coach Matt Hamilton gets mic’d up.
🔼 Man Of The People. The success for the ODU football program hasn’t been limited to the gridiron this fall.
ODU offensive lineman Zach Barlev has been named a semifinalist for the 2025 William V. Campbell Trophy.
The award recognizes an individual as the absolute best in the country for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership, and the candidates also comprise the pool of nominees for the 2025 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards Presented by Fidelity Investments.
Barlev has started all four games at left tackle this season for the Monarchs after starting all 12 on the offensive line last season.
