🔼 Can’t Rain On Our Parade. A little (or a lot) of rain couldn’t slow down the celebration of the ODU women’s soccer program on Wednesday night.
The Lady Monarchs picked up their 10th win of the season, a 2-1 defeat of Georgia State, to claim the Sun Belt’s East Division crown and secure the number two seed in next week’s Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Foley, Ala.
The two teams will now face-off again in the first round of the conference championships on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
🔼 Bayou Battle. After returning to the win column this past weekend with a gutty 24-21 win over App State, the ODU football team looks to punch their ticket to bowl season when they hit the road to battle ULM in a Saturday afternoon showdown.
After a strong start to the season, the Warhawks have lost four straight heading into this weekend.
A victory by the Monarchs would secure the third bowl bid in the past five seasons for ODU.
🔼 Give ‘Em A Hand. ODU sailors Gianna Dewey and Esther Ireland earned at-large bids to the Women’s Singlehanded National Championships set for November 8-9, an event that will be hosted by ODU.
It is the second time in her career that Dewey has earned a bid to the national championships while it is the first bid for the freshman Ireland.
Dewey’s top finish in singlehanded events this fall was a second-place spot in the Faye Bennet MAISA Women’s Single, while Ireland finished right behind in third place.
🦁 MONARCH TRIVIA

With three passing TDs in last week’s Homecoming victory over App State, redshirt sophomore QB Colton Joseph reached 30 career passing TDs.
Where does that rank him all-time in program history?
