📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Saturday Night Live. Another stifling defensive effort and a timely second-half goal led the ODU women’s soccer team a 1-0 victory over South Alabama in Sun Belt action on Saturday night at the ODU Soccer Complex.
The Monarchs are now just one of three teams left unbeaten in league play through the first two weeks, sitting at 2-0-2.
ODU limited the Jags to just four total shots on the night, only two of which were on target. Offensively, ODU broke through in the 72nd minuted off a corner kick, which bounced around in the box before Libby Holmes finished the job by heading the ball into the back of the net for the game’s only goal.
🔼 Making The List. In his second season at ODU, Lewis Rourke is making quite a name for himself leading the Monarchs men’s soccer team to a national ranking for the first time in eight years.
Late last week, Rourke earned national notoriety, earning a spot on the 2026 Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List. The list highlights the top 30 men’s soccer players in Division I.
Rourke currently leads the Monarchs in points (17), goals (7), and is tied for first in assists (3). The Nottingham, England native is in the top-20 in the country in total points and the top-25 in goals.
🔼 Meet The Monarchs. This Thursday, ODU will host Meet the Monarchs event to allow fans to connect with this year’s squads heading into the upcoming seasons.
