🔼 This is OUR HOUSE. It is difficult to imagine an Old Dominion football team playing any better than the Monarchs did Saturday night in their Sun Belt Conference opener.
Led by quarterback Colton Joseph, and a swarming defense that nearly pitched a shutout, the Monarchs scored early and often and rolled past Coastal Carolina, 47-7, before an enthused S.B. Ballard Stadium crowd of 20,895.
ODU led, 34-0, at halftime en route to its most lopsided victory ever over an FBS opponent. It was the fourth win in a row for ODU, which is off to its best start since 2012.
While Joseph and the offense played exceptionally well, this was the quintessential “team” victory in that ODU’s defense and special teams also excelled.
ODU outgained Coastal, 619-189. The offensive yardage differential of 430 yards was the largest for ODU in a game in program history.
🔼 Chants Up Down. Mark a +3 in the points column for ODU men’s soccer as the Monarchs secured its first Sun Belt victory of the 2025 season, taking down Coastal Carolina, 2-1, on Friday night.
Otu Bisong had a career-night for ODU, scoring both goals in his first career start for the Monarch.
ODU’s defense held CCU to five shots, two on goal, and four corners. Michael Statham picked up the win in goal.

🔼 Points Secured. The ODU women’s soccer team remained unbeaten in conference play and extended its unbeaten streak to eight games overall with a 0-0 draw on the road at Marshall on Sunday afternoon.
The Monarchs outshot the Herd 17-4 and had three shots on goal to Marshall's one. The Silver and Blue had four corners to one by the Herd.
ODU now has five clean sheets during the 2025 season.
🦁 MONARCH TRIVIA

Ke’Travion Hargrove’s 80-yard TD reception in the first half of Saturday’s win over Coastal Carolina was the first receiving TD of his collegiate career.
Where does it rank in ODU history as far as longest pass plays ever?
