🔼 Perfect 10. It’s been five season and many, many hours of building for this moment.

The ODU Volleyball team continued its magical season with a series sweep of Coastal Carolina, picking up back-to-back 3-1 victories on Friday and Saturday to extend their program-record win streak to 🔟.

Veteran Myah Conway once again led the offensive attack with 23 kills on the weekend, while Ashlynn Belcher posted a double-double in Friday’s victory and finished with 45 assists and 14 digs in the two matches.

With the two victories, the Lady Monarchs are now 13-2 and just one win away from tying the single-season program record for wins (14) with nearly two months left in the season.

🔼 Never Too Late. When these two teams get together, it’s always a battle.

That’s always been the story when it comes to ODU and South Alabama on the women’s soccer pitch.

Friday night was no different as it came down to a goal with under three minutes to play to lift the Monarchs to a critical road victory over the Jaguars, 1-0. The victory snapped a six-match unbeaten streak for South Alabama.

It was sophomore forward Laura Kelebek, who corralled a loose ball deep in South Alabama territory and blasted a shot off a Jaguar defender and into the back of the net for the game-winning goal with 87:14 on the game clock.

🔼 Crazy Eights. Tess Jedeloo secured her second hat trick and fourth multi-goal game of the season as the ODU field hockey squad bounced back after a tough weekend last week to dominate visiting Providence, 8-1 on Friday.

Joining Jedeloo in multi-goal performances were both Sian Emslie and Amelie Zielcke, who each scored two goals each. Frederique Zandbergen finished the game with one goal and four assists.

The Monarch defense limited Providence to just three shots in the entire contest.

🔼 Adversity Knocks. Sometimes adversity knocks on the door. Other times adversity busts the door down itself.

For the ODU football team, it’s been the latter in 2024 with injuries piling up and more and more close battles on Saturdays.

This past weekend was the same with more injuries and yet another one-score game, but the Monarchs dropped a tough 45-37 contest at Coastal Carolina.

Redshirt freshman QB Colton Joseph continued to shine, finishing with 262 yards passing and three TDs for the Monarchs.
