Monarchs Hoops Seasons Just 26 Days Away
Happy Hump Day Monarchs. You know those old sayings that our parents used to say to us? Like….
As we wait for ODU Hoops to return, it feels like we’re waiting for that pot to boil!
What do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below!
🏀 Tick Tock, Tick Tock
⚾️ Bleeding Blue
⛳️ Host With The Most
🦁 And much more!
🏀 TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK….
26 Days.
637 Hours.
38,220 Minutes.
Not that we’re counting or anything, but we’re just a tad excited for ODU hoops to return.
Both squads will open up the 2024-25 season with the first part of the MAC-SBC. The men’s squad is set to host Buffalo on Monday, November 4th, while the women head to Indiana to battle with Ball State.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Bleeding Blue. Once A Monarch, Always A Monarch.
A few former ODU baseball stars are taking the Bleeding Blue pride to a new level as three former Monarchs are flexing their muscles in the MLB playoffs.
Designated hitter Vinnie Pasquantino and manager Matt Quatraro have the Kansas City Royals tied up with the Yankees at 1-1 through the first two games of the best-of-five series, while reliever Daniel Hudson has made two scoreless appearances for the Dodgers, who find themselves in a 2-1 hole to the Padres.
🔼 And Another One. She did it again folks.
That’s right, for the second consecutive week, ODU women’s soccer sophomore Ashlynn Kulha was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Kulha played a massive role in ODU’s 1-0 win at South Alabama on Friday night marshaling a backline that allowed only one shot on goal to the Jaguars as the Monarchs snapped a six-game unbeaten streak by South Alabama.
The ODU win was the sixth clean sheet for the Monarchs this season and they now share the league lead in that category.
🔼 Host With The Most. For the ODU women’s golf program, it’s one of the most special weekends of the year.
This past weekend, the Lady Monarchs hosted the Fourth Annual Evie Odom Invitational at Princess Anne Country Club.
ODU standouts Barbara Car and Mariana Arronte both tied for 15th with a couple of four-over par 214s and the Monarchs as a team ended up in sixth place.
Car, a freshman from Vodice, Slovenia, started off the three-day tournament with an even 70 on Friday. She followed with a 73 on Saturday and a 71 on Sunday. Arronte, a freshman from Xalapa, Mexico, improved each day of the Invitational. After turning in a three-over 73 in the first round, she hit a 72 in the second and then made four birdies on Sunday for a final round of 69.
The Dueling Pianos is back at Apex Entertainment in Virginia Beach!
This show will take place on Friday, October 11th and tickets are still available!
Enjoy three hours of music, fun and food!
