🔼 Crown ‘Em. For the first time since 2021, the ODU women’s soccer team staked claim to a regular season conference championship with a thrilling 1-0 victory over Georgia State on Sunday night.
It marked the fourth straight win for the Monarchs, who tied with JMU atop the Sun Belt standings and will be the second seed in the upcoming SBC Tournament in Foley, Ala.
ODU scored the game’s only goal in the 16th minute when Madison Telmer picked the ball cleanly from a GSU midfielder and slid a through ball onto the path of Riley Mullen, who beat her defender and slipped one into the back of the net.
Ashlynn Kulha and the Monarch defense held the Panthers, who were previously unbeaten at home, without a shot on goal in the contest.
🔼 Showtime. The time has come. Chartway Arena will come to life once again as ODU men’s basketball tips off the 2026-27 season tonight when Western Michigan rolls into town for the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge.
Entering his third season at the helm, head coach Mike Jones looks to guide a revamped ODU roster featuring 11 newcomers and six returning players. The Monarchs will lean on preseason All-Sun Belt First Team selection Adante’ Holiman, along with returning guard Zacch Wiggins, who scored 21 points in ODU's 75-48 exhibition victory over Virginia State.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
🔼 They’re Baccckkkk. ODU women’s hoops will kickoff the season this morning as it hits the court against Central Michigan in the SBC-MAC Challenge.
Head coach DeLisha Milton-Jones enters the new campaign with a significantly revamped roster featuring 13 transfers, including several players with Power Four experience.
Tip-off is set for 11 a.m. on ESPN+.
🔼 Punchin’ Tickets. Not only did the ODU field hockey team get to celebrate a victory to end the regular season, but they also celebrated punching their ticket to the postseason.
The Monarchs earned a hard-fought 3-2 victory over a gritty Georgetown team on Friday and a few minutes later Temple defeated Providence to finalize the BIG EAST Tournament field, which includes ODU as the third seed.
Madison Zalewski, Lotte Haagmans and Serena Langendoen all found the back of the cage for the Monarchs, who will now play nationally-ranked Liberty in Friday’s BIG EAST semifinal in Philadelphia, Pa.
