🔼 Super Simone. On Thursday night, Simone Cunningham grabbed the most offensive rebounds (6) that she had ever tallied in her 36 games of her ODU career.

The Lady Monarchs needed every single of them and her last came at the perfect time as Cunningham grabbed an offensive board and delivered a put back to give ODU a thrilling 53-51 OT victory over in-state rival VCU.

Cunningham finished with a team-high 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go along with those six offensive boards. Simaru Fields added 11 points and seven rebounds, while Kelsey Thompson finished with 12.

🔼 One Last Dance. For the last time this fall, the ODU Monarchs football squad will take the field at Ballard Stadium, as one of the Sun Belt’s best teams this fall comes to town for a Saturday evening tilt.

The Thundering Herd arrive in Norfolk with a 7-3 ledger this fall, including 5-1 in conference, while the Monarchs are looking to fight their way to victories in the final two games to earn bowl eligibility for the second straight season.

🔼 Oh My-ah! She will go done as one of, if not the the best ODU volleyball player in program history and this week, Myah Conway capped it off with yet another conference accolade.

In all four of her seasons with the Monarchs, the Orwigsburg, Pa. native earned all-conference honors. She earned a spot on the Conference USA All-Freshman Team in 2021 and was named to the All-Sun Belt First Team in 2022 and 2023.

This season, she was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team after starting all 27 matches for ODU this season, ranked second in the conference with 369 kills (3.39 per set) and 412.5 total points, and led the Monarchs with a .302 hitting percentage

🔼 Saluting Sofia. Ever since she stepped on campus at ODU, Sofia Johnson has been a force for the ODU women’s tennis program.

This fall and this week, she showed the whole nation exactly that as she marched to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Singles Championship, but dropped a tough second round matchup with Auburn’s DJ Bennett.

Earlier this fall, Johnson took home the title at the ITA Masters Tournament to earn her a spot in the event this week in Waco.
