🔼 Midweek Cruisin’. The ODU men’s basketball cruised to 2-0 on the season with a decisive 91-47 victory on Wednesday night over visiting Regent. The largest margin of victory since the Monarchs defeated UTEP, 82-33 on Feb. 17, 2018.
Scottie Hubbard set career highs with 16 points on 4-for-6 shooting from beyond the arc. The Washington, D.C. native also grabbed four rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench.
Adante’ Holiman shot 5-for-10 from the floor, including 2-for-6 from distance, to finish with 12 points, and CJ Lyons was the other Monarch in double figures, knocking down 2-of-5 three-point attempts and netting 11 points.
ODU had 13 different players find the scoring column as the team combined to shoot 47.2% (34-for-72) from the field. The Monarchs also forced 23 turnovers and had 11 players record a steal.

🔼 Wire To Wire. Old Dominion women’s basketball improved to 2-0 after defeating Virginia State, 69-55 on Thursday night at Chartway Arena.
Shadasia Brackens led the Monarchs with 17 points in the winning effort which saw the Silver and Blue never fall behind.
Brackens was 8-11 shooting from the field, she also grabbed five rebounds, swiped two steals, and made one block. Mia Davis finished with 11 points on 50-percent shooting from the field and added five rebounds and four assists. Trinity Vance, Dalanna Carter, and Riley Stack combined for 24 points, Vance and Carter both tacked on eight and Stack scored six points.
🔼 The Great Defenders. Senior Ashlynn Kulha earned a historic third-straight Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year and Ellie Goodrich was selected Sun Belt Goalkeeper of the Year as seven Monarchs were selected to All-Sun Belt Teams.
The Silver and Blue earned four All-Sun Belt First Team nods. The Old Dominion backline earned its dues for only allowing three goals in conference play and holding opposing scoring offenses to a 0.71 rating. For further clarity, that 0.71 rating means ODU’s defense held opponents to the average scoring offense of the 317th ranked program in Division-I.
ODU’s Ashley Economopoulos has earned a nod on the All-Sun Belt Third Team. Madison Telmer and Ally Richardson pair up the middle of the pitch on the All-Sun Belt Third Team.
🔼 Tourney Time. Looking to punch their ticket to the BIG EAST Championship for the first time since 2023, the ODU field hockey team squares off with second-seeded and nationally-ranked Liberty in the BIG EAST Semifinals this afternoon.
Game time on ESPN+ is set for 4 p.m.
🔼 Southern Swing. ODU football hits the road this weekend for the start of a two-game road swing, beginning tomorrow afternoon in Conway, S.C. against the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina.
In the sixth all-time meeting between the two programs, Jaxon Potter will look to lead the offense in just his third collegiate start after throwing for 329 yards in last week’s battle with Marshall.
Kickoff on ESPN+ is set for 1 p.m.
