The Chartway ODU Bowl Game Watch Party will be held on Wednesday, December 17 in the Big Blue Room at Chartway Arena.

All area access points including the Big Blue Room, VIP entrance, courtside seating, suites, and ODU’s regular game-day entrances will open at 4:30 p.m. for guests with a ticket to the men’s basketball game versus James Madison that evening.

The bowl game will be played on every TV inside of the arena as well as on the arena’s videoboard, in the VIP areas, and in the suites.

🔼 Here To Stay. The Rahne era isn’t going anywhere.

After a 9-3 regular season and one of its most successful season in the past decade, ODU announced a four-year contract extension for Head Coach Ricky Rahne.

Since Rahne’s first season on the field in 2021, Old Dominion has played in three bowl games, including the 2021 campaign that saw the Monarchs win the final five games of the regular season to earn its first bowl bid since 2016.

“I’m extremely thankful for the support of both Dr. Hemphill and Dr. Selig,” Rahne said. “Our staff and players are excited to continue to build towards championships here in the 757.”

🔼 Game Week Is Here. With final exams wrapped up, the ODU football team has one final test on their schedule: The StaffDNA Cure Bowl.

ODU is looking to wrap up one of its best seasons in program history when they line up across South Florida on Wednesday evening in Orlando.

Kickoff on ESPN is set for 5 p.m.

🔼 In The Open. For the second-straight season, Old Dominion’s Sophia Kapla was the Monarchs’ top finisher at the College National Open Water Championships held in Sarasota, Florida this past Saturday

Kapla dropped three minutes off her time from a season ago to finish in 41^st with a time of 1:01:02. Linnea Kallebo finished in 45^th with a time of 1:01:08.7. Anna Eberle followed by coming in 57^th with a time of 1:02:47.3 and Gabriella Gonzalez came in 83^rd with a time of 1:04:58.5.
