🔼 Always Remember Your First. A local product from Maury HS became a steady force for the ODU women’s soccer program, helping the Lady Monarchs to back-to-back conference titles in 2022 and 2023.

Now, she’s making her impact on the national team as Malia Mariano earned her first career international appearance for the US National Beach Women’s Soccer team this past weekend at the 2024 Acapulco Cup in Mexico.

Mariano appeared in Saturday’s 4-0 win over the host country as the US finished second at the event.

🔼 Tip Of The Cap. Speaking of weekends that they’ll never forget.

The same can apply to several Monarchs who became ODU graduates over the weekend at the December 2024 graduate.

🔼 Getting Smartt. Last week, it was a bit of a breakout performance.

This week, he was back at it as former ODU standout Stone Smartt posted his second-straight 50+ yard outing for the Los Angeles Chargers.

In LA’s loss to Tampa Bay, Smartt reeled in a career-high six catches for 50 yards, including the longest reception of his career of 31 yards.
