🔼 Bring On The Bulls. A December trip to the Sunshine State? Yes, please!

For the fourth time in program history, the ODU football squad will be playing in a bowl game, this time they will square off with South Florida in the StaffDNA Cure Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla.

Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17 on ESPN.

The Monarchs finished the regular season 9-3 overall and 6-2 in the Sun Belt Conference. ODU enters the bowl on a five-game win streak, dating back the middle of October.

The Cure Bowl will be the fourth bowl in ODU program history. ODU’s first was a 24-20 win in the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl over Eastern Michigan. The Monarchs have since played in the Myrtle Beach Bowl in 2021 against Tulsa and the Famous Toastery Bowl in 2023 against WKU.

🔼 Fields Of Dream. Head Coach DeLisha Milton-Jones was looking for a lift in a tough Sunday showdown at Chartway Arena.

Enter Simaru Fields.

Fields came off the bench to score 21 points to lead the ODU women’s basketball team’s rally from a nine-point deficit to claim a 63-59 victory over Howard University.

Kelsey Thompson added 16 points and eight rebounds and En’Dya Buford eight points. Riley Stack, the 6-foot-4 transfer from Coastal Carolina, had just five points, but added six rebounds and three blocked shots, and was an intimidating presence in the paint when the Monarchs rallied to take the lead in the third quarter.

The victory was one of the most impressive of the early season for ODU (7-3), which moved to 5-1 at home. Howard (7-4) entered the game ranked 100^th nationally in the NCAA Women’s Basketball NET rankings, higher than all but two Sun Belt teams. The Bison claimed victories over Providence and George Washington earlier this season.
