🔼 And Here We Go. Play ball! Old Dominion baseball begins the 2026 campaign this weekend, hosting Quinnipiac for a three-game set at the Ellmer Family Baseball Complex beginning today at 2 p.m.
🔼 Leading The Way. Old Dominion football will be represented on the American Football Coaches Association Board of Trustees, with Monarch head coach Ricky Rahne being named to the board this week.
Rahne, in his seventh season leading the Monarch program, will help formulate policy and provide direction for the AFCA.

🔼 2-in-1. We’ve got a hoops doubleheader at Chartway Arena tomorrow! ODU women’s basketball tips off against James Madison at 1 p.m., with the ODU men immediately following at 3:30 p.m. against Georgia State.
The women’s game will serve as a TowneBank Royal Rivalry matchup, while the men’s game is Senior Night.
🔼 Coming Home. Former Monarch Justin Verlander is heading back to where it all started, signing a one-year contract with the Detroit Tigers!
From 2005-17, Verlander won 183 games for the Tigers, as well as the 2006 AL Rookie of the Year, 2011 AL Cy Young and 2011 AL MVP. During that time, Verlander led the American League in wins twice, innings three times and strikeouts four times.
🔼 Doublin’ Up. The Old Dominion women’s tennis doubles pairing of Lidiia Rasskouskaia and Ulyana Romanova has earned Sun Belt Doubles Team of the Week honors after picking up wins against Penn State and Wake Forest last week.
Rasskouskaia and Romanova, the No. 45-ranked doubles pairing in the country, is 4-2 so far this spring.
