Good Morning, ODU Fam. This time of year, every win is crucial.
Road wins are twice as nice and that’s why the ODU women’s hoops enjoyed their Thursday night in Atlanta.

🔼 Southern Hospitality. With just three games remaining in the regular season, the ODU women’s hoops team is doing everything they can to jockey for position in next month’s Sun Belt Tournament.
Getting off to a fast start, the Monarchs sped past Georgia State, 88-75, and now sit in position to earn a triple bye in the postseason as the sixth seed.
Simone Cunningham led five ODU players in double-figures with 16 points, five rebounds and three steals, while En’Dya Buford (11), Simaru Fields (11), Riley Stack (10) and Nakiyah Allen (10) all finished in double-digits in the scoring column for the Monarchs.
🔼 Twice As Nice. For the second time this spring, Adam Majchrzak was named Sun Belt Singles Players of the Week.
A sophomore from Piotrkow Trybunalski, Poland, Majchrzak went undefeated last weekend against Virginia Tech and South Alabama, where he played at No. 1. He downed Hokie Ilyas Fahim 6-4, 7-6 in a comeback victory Friday night, before besting Jaguar Juan Accossatto 6-2, 6-2 on Sunday morning.
Majchrzak is now 5-1 to begin the spring season.
🔼 Hunting Hardware. Two days into the Atlantic Sun Championships in Orlando, Fla., the ODU swimming squads are off to a strong start.
Follow along as the Monarchs hunt some hardware in the Sunshine State.
👏 WHAT A RUN
After 16 years, 21 conference championships, several firsts, and helping raise more than $157 million, Old Dominion Athletics Director Dr. Wood Selig announced Tuesday that he will retire as Director of Athletics effective December 31, 2026.
“Without question, Dr. Selig has certainly left his mark on the University, as well as at the conference level and across the national landscape,” ODU President Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D. said. “I have been most inspired by his care for and connection to our student-athletes for whom he personally championed innovative initiatives and specialized support, such as dedicated mental health counseling resources and dining hall operations.”
