This is the penultimate episode of this season. Tonight’s show will be live at Recovery Sports Grill from 6-7pm and air on ESPN 94.1 from 7-8pm. 📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Breakin’ Out. This time of year, breakout stars pop up all over the court.
Let us introduce Mariah Clayton, who posted career-highs in points (28) and rebounds (10) to lead the ODU women’s hoops team to a critical 73-60 road victory over Coastal Carolina on Saturday afternoon in Conway.
Jaylen Ponder joined the fun with nine points and a career-best 15 rebounds, while Simaru Fields (11) and Nevaeh Scott (10) each finished in double-figures for the Monarchs.
The Silver and Blue grabbed 60 rebounds to the Chants’ 39 for a +21-rebounding margin for the visitors.
🔼 Spring Cleanin’. You know what’s part of spring cleaning? A little sweeping.
That’s what the ODU baseball team did this past weekend, rolling to its first sweep of the 2026 season, picking up victories of 5-4, 8-5 and 5-4 over visiting Niagara this past weekend in Norfolk.
Zach Leite paced the offensive attack with five hits, four runs scored and seven RBIs in the three games.
ODU’s bullpen was terrific all weekend long, allowing just three earned runs in 12 innings of work.
🔼 Hardware Haul. In his final race with the ODU swimming program, Bryce Mortimer left his mark.
For the second straight year, the Richmond, Va., native picked up a gold, winning the 200 breaststroke on the final night of the Atlantic Sun Championships. Junior sensation Zachary Redding had quite a week, bringing home three top-three finishes for the Monarchs.
