The ODU Basketball: Keeping Up With The Joneses Coaches Show was BACK for another episode this past Sunday at Norfolk’s Waters Edge Winery & Bistro.

Hosted by Matthew Hatfield, the Voice of the Lady Monarchs, he was joined by both Head Coaches, Mike Jones and DeLisha Milton-Jones, who both talked about their team’s games this past weekend and the outlook heading towards the upcoming Sun Belt Conference tournaments.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Closing Time. The time has come. The end of the regular season is upon us.

Both the men’s and women’s teams hit the court down south with tournament seeding on the line for next week’s Sun Belt Conference Tournament action.

The women’s team takes on Georgia Southern at 5 pm with a shot at a top six seed on the line, which would earn them a triple bye in the new tournament format for this year.

At 7:30 pm, the men’s team hits the court at Coastal Carolina looking to pick up a win and earn a bye into the second day of tournament action.

🔼 Three’s Company. Heading into today’s regular season finale, the Lady Monarchs are looking to extend their win streak to four after a huge road victory at Coastal Carolina on Wednesday night.

Double-doubles by Simone Cunningham and Brenda Fontana helped propel ODU to a decisive 81-65 victory over the Chanticleers.

Both seniors set new career highs in scoring as they finished with 21 points each. Cunningham added 12 rebounds, and Fontana matched her career bests with 11 boards and four three-pointers made. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native also recorded three blocks and had one steal with one assist.

Kelsey Thompson chipped in 11 points with five rebounds and four assists while En’Dya Buford finished the night with eight points, seven assists, three rebounds and two steals.

🔼 We’ll Take Two, Please. With both tennis squads rolling right now, it comes as no surprise that the Monarchs swept the Sun Belt Conference Players of the Week accolades.

On the men’s side, Cosme Rolland De Ravel picked up his second consecutive weekly honor after going 4-0 this past week, while on the women’s side, Lidiia Rasskouskaia picked up her first career honor after helping the Monarchs to a victory over Princeton.

🏀 THE ROAD AHEAD

The time has come.
