🔼 Locked In. Two programs who began football around the same time will once again meet on the gridrion.
This week, ODU and Charlotte announced a football home and home non-conference series that will open in Norfolk in 2027 and the two teams will play in Charlotte in 2031.
In 2027, the Monarchs will host the 49ers at S.B. Ballard Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 25. ODU will travel to Charlotte in 2031 to play at Jerry Richardson Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 20.
The two programs started football around the same time, as ODU’s first season was in 2009 and the first FBS season in 2014, while Charlotte debuted its first football team in 2013 and played as an FBS member in 2015.
🔼 Game Week Is Here. Four Days.
That’s all that separates us from the start of the 2026 ODU women’s lacrosse slate.
The Monarchs are set to return to the field on Sunday when they travel to Youngstown State for a 12pm season opener.
🔼 Bounce Back Time. With just a few weeks left in the Sun Belt league schedule, one thing is for sure, the ODU men’s basketball team can play with anyone.
In the Monarchs’ 11 conference games this season, the average margin of victory is just 5.7 points per game.
Tonight, ODU returns to Chartway Arena to host ULM, sitting just two games out of a top-6 spot in next month’s Sun Belt Tournament.
Tip time tonight is set for 7 p.m.

The last time ODU and Charlotte met on the gridiron was back in 2021 when the Monarchs rolled to a 56-34 victory in the regular season finale to clinch bowl eligibility.
