🔼 High Five! While preparation for next fall is already underway in Norfolk, a few more accolades were handed out to the Monarchs for their performance last fall.

Five members of the ODU football program were recently honored with spots on the VaSID All-State team with two on the first team and three on the second team.

Pat Conroy and Isiah Paige were first team honorees, while Koa Kaotala, Zach Barley and Kris Trinidad all were recognized on the second team.

🔼 Class Acts. While the Monarchs continue to make waves in the pool, both the ODU men’s and women’s swimming teams are also making waves in the classroom.

This week, both squads were named a Scholar All-American Team by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America. The Old Dominion women’s team produced a 3.59 GPA, while the men’s team had a 3.45 GPA.

To earn this prestigious recognition, teams were required to achieve a grade point average (GPA) above 3.0 during the Fall 2024 semester. Of the selected teams, an impressive 654 recorded a GPA of 3.30 or higher, qualifying them for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.

🔼 New Additions. Coming off a record-setting year this past fall, the ODU volleyball program is looking to continue their ascent and added two more talents to their roster this week.

Head Coach Fred Chao announced the signing of two transfers in Wiktoria Zagumny (Chicago State) and Kyra Hampton (Virginia Tech). The pair join fellow 2025 commits Rita Benidio and Katie Rakoski.

🎙️ ON THE MIC

The ODU Basketball: Keeping Up With The Joneses Coaches Show is returned for another episode this past Monday at Recovery Sports Grill in Norfolk from 6-7 pm.

Hosted by Ted Alexander, the Voice of the Monarchs, he was joined by both Head Coaches, Mike Jones and DeLisha Milton-Jones, who talked about what’s ahead in the final weeks of the regular season.
