🔼 Road To Victory. The ODU women’s hoops team got off to a fast start and never looked back as the Lady Monarchs sealed its first Sun Belt road victory of the season on Wednesday night, rolling past Louisiana, 72-61.
ODU used its inside presence to grab the win, scoring 32 points in the paint and grabbing 41 rebounds, while also forcing ULL into 16 turnovers.
Offensively, Simaru Fields led the way with 12 points, joined by Mariah Clayton (11) and Riley Stack (10) in double-figures. Stack grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and picked up two steals.
🔼 Diamond Days Ahead. We are just one week away from the return of ODU baseball as the Monarchs are set to kickoff the 2026 campaign.
This week, the Monarchs were picked to finish seventh in the preseason poll, voted on by the league’s 14 head coaches.
ODU is coming off last spring, in which it traveled nearly 14,000 miles and claimed four victories over Top 25 teams last season.
This year’s squad features 23 returners and 19 newcomers. The Monarchs open their season with a three-game homestand versus Quinnipiac on Friday through Sunday, Feb. 13-15.
🔼 Three Of A Kind. Make it three straight!
For the third consecutive week, the ODU men’s tennis claimed both Sun Belt Conference Weekly Honors.
Aryan Saleh and Piet Steveker and Zech Hamrouni earned Sun Belt Singles Player of the Week and Sun Belt Doubles Team of the Week, respectively.
🔼 Preseason Praise. With the season opener just 48 hours away, a foundational piece of the ODU women’s lacrosse team earned some preseason praise.
This week, senior goalkeeper Brynn Bowen earned a spot on the Preseason All-American Conference Team.
The Salem, Va., native started all 17 games in goal of the 2025 season for the Monarchs registering 122 saves with a 45% save percentage.
