🔼 Vinnie, Vinnie, Vici. This year marks the sixth-ever World Baseball Classic. No player had ever hit three home runs in a single game until last Wednesday.

Enter ODU alum Vinnie Pasquantino.

Pasquantino blasted three solo shots in Italy’s 9-1 victory over Mexico to lift his squad to a 4-0 record in pool play and a ticket into the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals.

The Italians didn’t stop there, earning the country’s first-ever spot in the WBC Semifinals with an 8-6 win over Puerto Rico on Saturday afternoon. Tonight, they go for a spot in the finals when they battle Venezuela.

🔼 The National Stage. Last month, it was the Atlantic Sun Championship meet.

This past weekend, the ODU Swimming squad took it up a notch, battling some of the nation’s best at the 2026 CSCAA National Invitation Championships in Ocala, Fla.

Highlighting the weekend was the men’s 200 medley relay team of Bryce Mortimer, Dawson Truong, Jordan Smolsky and Zachary Redding swam a school record time of 1:26.76 to finish in fifth.
