Monarchs Set To Play First Games In Home State This Week

Good Morning ODU Fam. We are about six weeks into the college baseball season and the ODU baseball team has already traveled nearly 7,000 miles.
Safe to say, the Monarchs are happy to be back in their home state for the first time this weekend.
What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below!

🏀 NOT DONE YET
The hoops season isn’t over yet for the Monarchs as the women’s squad earned a spot in this year’s WNIT field, announced on Monday.
ODU will host a tough Navy squad this Saturday at Chartway in the first round.
The two programs faced off in the 2014 WNIT as well, with the Lady Monarchs prevailing 68-60 in a tightly contested game.
📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Connect Four. The stack of certificates continue to grow higher and higher for ODU’s Sarah Murrell.
For the fourth time this season, the freshman sensation for the ODU lacrosse program was named American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week.
In the past week she scored seven goals, dished out one assist, collected one ground ball, caused one turnover, and secured 13 draw controls.

🔼 Back With The Bolts. While one former ODU star left sunny California, another one is staying.
Monarch legend Taylor Heinicke has resigned with the Los Angeles Chargers for another season with the Bolts.
Heinicke will enter his eighth NFL season after serving as the backup to Justin Herbert last year. He appeared in four games for the Chargers, who went 11-6 and earned a spot in the NFL Playoffs.

🔼 Home Sweet Home. 17 games, 17 times away from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
This week, the ODU baseball team will play their first games inside their home state as the Monarchs travel tonight to take on William & Mary in Williamsburg, followed by hosting a three-game set with Georgia State in War Memorial Stadium in Hampton Roads.
ODU is coming off a stretch of seven straight games against nationally-ranked opponents.
First pitch in Williamsburg tonight is set for 6 pm.
🏈 YOUNG AND HUNGRY
Ever since the ODU football team stepped off the field in Jonesboro, Ark. last November for the final time, the focus has been building for 2025.
The Monarchs are young and hungry, led by a versatile and talented group of QBs.
Max with Minium sat down with Coach Rahne to dive into what the Monarchs are looking to accomplish when spring ball opens up in Norfolk on Thursday.
