🔼 Crazy Eight. For the first time since 2017, the ODU women’s lacrosse team has reached 8 victories in a season and there’s still nearly half the season left on the docket.

On a day where the Lady Monarchs played for more than just a victory, honoring “Morgan’s Message” pregame, ODU won a thriller, pulling out a 14-12 victory over visiting Winthrop.

Ella Bowen led the Monarchs in scoring with four goals, while Sarah Murrell and Corynn Jones followed behind with two each. Both Callie Culhane and Jones also had two assists each. Goalie Brynn Bowen came away with 11 saves to bring her season total up to 79.

🔼 Back To The Lab. The Monarchs returned to the gridiron on Thursday, opening up spring practice for the first time, prepping for the 2025 season next fall.

🏀 NOT DONE YET

The hoops season isn’t over yet for the Monarchs as the women’s squad earned a spot in this year’s WNIT field, announced earlier this week.

ODU will host a tough Navy squad tomorrow afternoon at Chartway in the first round. Tip time is set for 2 pm.

The two programs faced off in the 2014 WNIT as well, with the Lady Monarchs prevailing 68-60 in a tightly contested game.
