🔼 Class Acts. On the court, Sean Durugordon and Robert Davis Jr. gave ODU fans plenty to cheer about during this past season.
Their successes went past the court as the duo thrilled their teachers as well and this week, the dynamic duo were both named to the CSC 2024-25 Academic All-District Men’s Basketball Team.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Men’s Basketball Team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their performance both in the classroom and on the court. In the classroom, recipients must achieve a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher while on the court must play in 90% of game’s played during the season.

🔼 Making Waves. The award winners didn’t just come from the ODU hoops program this week, four members of the ODU swim team made their own waves.
Kiersten Donnelly, Mary Dunworth, Lauren Masters and Angela Sicaja were all named to the Sun Belt All-Conference Third Team earlier this week.

🔼 Grand Opening. Former ODU star Vinnie Pasquantino had quite an opening day for the Kansas City Royals.
After dealing with an injury for much of last year, Pasquantino returned with a bang in Thursday’s opener against the Guardians, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs and this blast for KC.
Last season, the former Monarch launched a career-high 19 HRs for the upstart Royals.

🔼 He’s Backkkk. As we mentioned, the ODU hoops program was building a foundation during the 2024-25 season under the direction of new head coach Mike Jones.
Part of that foundation is solidified for next year as Robert Davis Jr. announced he’ll be back with the Monarchs next season.
Davis Jr. played in 34 games, starting in 33 of them and was the team’s second leading scorer (15.6 ppg) and was the team’s leading three-point shooter averaging 3.41 makes per game. His 116 three-point field goals ranked sixth in the nation and his 3.41 makes ranked fifth in the NCAA.
🦁 MONARCH TRIVIA

As we mentioned, Davis Jr. knocked down 116 3-pointers this past season, which established a new single-season program record.
