Sun Belt Tournament Action Kicks Off This Week For Monarch Hoops

Good Morning Monarchs. The time has come. Madness is upon us.
That’s right, folks, March is here and the ODU hoops squads are headed for Tourney Time in the Sunshine State.

The ODU Basketball: Keeping Up With The Joneses Coaches Show was BACK for special Tourney Time episode last night at Norfolk’s Waters Edge Winery & Bistro.
Hosted by Matthew Hatfield, the Voice of the Lady Monarchs, he was joined by both Head Coaches, Mike Jones and DeLisha Milton-Jones, who both talked about their team’s games this past weekend and the outlook heading towards the upcoming Sun Belt Conference tournaments.

🔼 Tourney Time. Madness week has arrived for ODU Hoops.
The Sun Belt Conference Tournament action is just a few days away for the Monarchs as both teams wrapped up regular season action on Friday on the road.
With a dramatic win at Coastal Carolina, the men’s team earned a first-day bye and enter as the #10 seed. They will play Wednesday night at 7:30 against the winner of 11th-seeded Louisiana and 14th-seeded ULM.
On the women’s side, the Lady Monarchs are the #5 seed and will wait until Friday for their opening act at the tournament. They will tip off at 11:30 am.
All action is set for the Pensacola Bay Center.

🔼 Turtle Hunting. On Saturday, the ODU women’s tennis team went turtle hunting.
The Lady Monarchs jumped on Maryland from the start and never looked back, rolling to a third straight victory, sweeping past the Terps, 4-0, at Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.

🔼 Drive For Five. Sometimes it’s the offense, sometimes it’s the defense.
On Saturday, the ODU lacrosse team used the latter half to pick up their fifth victory of the season with a hard-fought 7-4 road win over Lafayette.
Brynn Bowen continued her outstanding season in goal, racking up eight saves on the day, while Alex Kulinski and Sarah Murrell both scored two goals apiece to lead the offensive attack on the day.

The balance scoring of the ODU women’s hoops has been a critical part of the Lady Monarchs earning a top-five seed in the upcoming Sun Belt Tournament.
