🔼 New Year, Same Results. After back-to-back monster seasons out of the bullpen for the Milwaukee Brewers, former ODU hurler Jared Koenig is off to yet another solid season in the first week.
Koenig has appeared in two of Milwaukee’s five games so far, pitching two scoreless innings, allowing just one baserunner and striking out four.
In his four year career, the southpaw has appeared in 138 games, while posting a 3.37 ERA and 156 strikeouts.
🔼 Cruising With Car. Sophomore golf standout Barbara Car posted her best collegiate finish as the Vodice, Slovenia native finished second at the 54th annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Georgia.
It marked the fourth Top-10 finish of 2025-26 for Car, who started off the Classic with a two-under par 70 in Saturday’s opening round. She then carded a three-under 69 on Sunday and followed with another round of 70 on Monday to finish at seven-under 209. Car was three strokes back of the individual champion, Georgia’s Trinity Beth.
🔼 Hitting The Water. ODU women’s sailing finished third in the MAISA Spring Women’s Fleet Race Championship in Kings Point, New York and the open sailing team came in 16th in the Marchiando Team Race this weekend.
“The team worked hard to secure a podium finish at the women’s conference championships this past weekend at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy,” said ODU assistant coach Morgan Collins. “They consistently performed well across both divisions, with Marina and Molly winning the A division with conditions that were very challenging and diverse throughout the 14 race series.”
