🔼 Finding His Fit. The transfer portal is a common place for collegiate student-athletes these days.
But sometimes, the perfect fit is actually right where you’re at and that was the case for Zion Frank, who decided the grass wasn’t going to be greener and stayed at ODU and is thriving for the Monarchs during spring camp.
🔼 Paving The Way. Former ODU offensive linemen Zach Barlev and Elijah Hoskin didn’t just pave the way on the gridiron last season for the Monarchs.
This week, the duo was named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society.
To be named a member of the society a player must meet the following criteria: a senior player graduating this spring/summer who completed his final season of eligibility in 2025, or a graduate player or grad transfer who has already earned a bachelor’s degree and competed in the 2025 season, and maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale), while being a starter or significant contributor during the 2025 season.
🔼 Excellent Eight. It was a record-setting season in the pool for the ODU swimming program.
That success wasn’t limited to the pool for the Monarch as ODU had eight student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team this week.
Brice Bounds, Bryant Julien, Bryce Mortimer and Zachary Redding earned the honor for the men’s team, while Lauren Masters, Linnea Kallebo, Elissa Profaca and Jadyn Whitt received the honor for the women’s squad.
