🔼 WTEN Update. The drive to five was successful for the ODU women’s tennis program.
A hard-fought 4-1 victory over Marshall sealed a third straight Sun Belt Conference Championship for the Lady Monarchs, which makes it five consecutive conference titles for ODU.
Their postseason fate will be determined tonight at the NCAA Selection Show.

🔼 Clipping Their Wings. For the second time in the past two weekends, the ODU baseball team picked up a clutch Sun Belt series victory, taking the final two games against ULM.
With the series victory, the Monarchs moved into a crucial spot in the league standings heading into the final two series of the year. ODU is tied for seventh place with the top 10 teams in the league earning a spot in the Sun Belt Tournament next month.
On the weekend, the Monarchs pounded out 34 hits in the three games with Maverick Stallings and Kainen Jorge each racking up six apiece.

🔼 Path To The Pros. The dream of playing on NFL Sundays got a little closer for three ODU alums this past weekend.
Pat Conroy (Raiders), Santana Saunders (Colts) and Aaron Young (Broncos) all signed deals to join NFL organizations this offseason.
🔼 Welcome Home. It’s a bit of a family reunion for the ODU field hockey program.
Late last week, head coach Andrew Griffiths announced the return of ODU Sports Hall of Famer Mimi Smith to the program as an assistant coach.
Smith was named the 1999 Honda Award winner as the nation's top field hockey player and was the second African American to win the award. She helped lead the Lady Monarchs to the 1998 NCAA national title. The two-time All-American was a third team selection in 1997 and a first team selection in 1998.
She was inducted into the ODU Sports Hall of Fame on April 29, 2008.
Prior to taking the position as ODU’s assistant coach, Smith worked at the NFHCA where she was unanimously voted to their executive board as the first Black Coaches Council to sit on it. She returned to the sideline as head coach at Garrison Forest School in Baltimore where she helped lead the program to back-to-back Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Championships in 2022 and 2023. She finished with a record of 27-4-1 over the two years. Smith then joined William & Mary’s field hockey program as an assistant coach in May of 2024.
