🔼 Power Pair. With the Sun Belt Championships just three weeks away, a pair of ODU women’s tennis standouts find themselves ranking in the latest ITA national rankings.
Kira Matushkina (#97) and Victoria Matasova (#117) are both in the top-120 singles players in the country.
The duo look to lead the Monarchs in two home matches this weekend as they look to extend their current four match win streak.
🔼 Hoppin’ Hosts. The Easter Bunny isn’t the only one visiting Norfolk this weekend as the ODU baseball squad plays hosts to #8 Southern Miss in the final two games of the three-game Sun Belt series.
The Monarchs and Eagles will square off at 3 pm this afternoon and 12 pm tomorrow at the Ellmer Family Baseball Complex.
🔼 On The Move. To word the use “demanding” about junior Zach Redding’s schedule is quite an understatement for his life these days.
He’s a sprinter for the Old Dominion swim team, meaning he participates in short races such as the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly. And he’s a good one – he was one of eight ODU swimmers to qualify for the National Invitation Championship, held recently in Ocala, Florida.
But he’s also an ODU nursing student, and that means after practice he quickly showers and drives 14 miles to ODU’s Virginia Beach campus where he settles in for four or more hours of classes.
