Good Morning, Monarch Nation. Some wins just mean a little more.
That was the case on Tuesday as the Monarchs picked up not one, but ✌️ wins over Commonwealth opponents.

🔼 Breaking It Open. Tied at 3-3 through five innings, Old Dominion Baseball scored six runs in the sixth inning and another six runs in the eighth to pull away for a 15-3 road win over William & Mary on Tuesday night.
Efrain Morales went 4-for-6 to lead the offensive attack, scoring two runs and driving in two more. It marks the second four-hit game of his career. Tyler Zedalis (3-for-6) doubled with two RBIs and one run scored, Zach Leite (2-for-5) collected three RBIs and scored once, and TJ Aiken (2-for-5) contributed one run and one RBI.
🔼 A True Legend. On Sunday, the ODU community lost a true legend with the passing of ODU Sports Hall of Famer Frank Smith (Class of ‘88).
One of the most solid point guards in Old Dominion University history, Smith completed his career in 1988 as the NCAA's third all-time assist leader, the Sun Belt Conference all-time assist leader and Old Dominion University's all-time assist leader with 883. As an outstanding defensive player, Smith has 295 steals for his career which tops both Old Dominion and the Sun Belt Conference all-time lists.
Smith was inducted into the ODU Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.
🔼 Claiming Royalty. Sometimes, it just means a little more.
That was the case on Tuesday night as the #59 ODU women’s tennis team staked claim to the TowneBank Royal Rivalry match yet again this season, taking down James Madison, 4-1.
It marked the seventh consecutive victories for the Monarchs.

Barbara Car turned in another solid finish on Tuesday as she came in second place at the Ironwood Invitational with a four-under par 212.
The sophomore from Slovenia has now posted five Top 10 finishes in 2025-26. This was also her second-straight second-place finish after going seven-under with a 209 at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic last week.
